FAQS

Data Recovery Service FAQs

How long will it take to recover my data?

We usually try to have basic diagnostics and the drive evaluation done within a few days with your final quote. Upon approval, the overall process will take on average about 1-2 weeks, depending on how your drive cooperates, as well as how our work load looks.

What happens if the data is not recoverable?

Some drives and data cannot always be recovered 100% of the time, but this is rarely the case. A recovery process is complex, with many variables involved and we always carefully do our best on any recovery that comes our way and most often safely recover all or most of the data from the non-trauma related drives and situations. Trauma situations can sometimes be more questionable for recoveries.

It’s always possible in all recovery situations that some file, folder or index structure corruption may occur. How much or how little, if any, is not always known, nor can we check for this on all our projects or on all your files. Sometimes our software can report this, but not always.

How much does data recovery cost in AL?

Drives fail in different ways and all drives can have different levels of corruption, hardware issues as well as amounts of data that needs saved from them. So without evaluating it, we can’t know the extent of work that your drive will need for recovery.

We do not believe in flat-rate charges as they are usually designed to turn every part of a failure situation into a worst case scenario. Often, this isn’t the case and the situation is not as bad as that and the work needed, far less costly than a worst case situation. We do charge a minimum, one time charge, of $190 per drive to meet you for drive pickup and then fully inspect, test and diagnose the drive. Only then can we firmly quote you for the final and total recovery charges plus offer you the probability of how good the expected recovery should be. The average however, based generally on software or corruption issues alone, usually fall between around $300 to $600. If the drive has more complicated issues and/or mechanical issues of any kind, the recovery costs will be higher.

* Multi-Drive RAID/data server or trauma issues such as falling, water or smoke damage will require a more comprehensive quote.

.

Where will my recovered data be put?

Recovered data will be copied to a new flash drive or USB backup hard drive depending on the required size needed when the project is completed.

Will my data be kept private?

Y.

Where do I send my data or drive?

Y.

Do I have to pay for shipping back?

N.

How do I receive back my recovered data?

Once the recovery process has been completed, we will notify you immediately and give you a summary review. Then we can schedule with you the return of your drive. Final payment is due at this time..

Can you rush this process?

Yes, our rush project fee will reduce the turn-a-round time to usually about 1 week or less. We have a one time, non-refundable, rush project fee of $349.
